Getting off the grid…
Recently our littlest Walkinshaw turned 4 and to celebrate she chose a day in the trees for adventure. She’s quite an active little poppet and enjoys climbing anything she can muster, so we packed for a day out and headed to Treetops Adventure Central Coast.
Our usual adventures have been slower of late, and it was an excellent opportunity to get into nature and the crisp air that only forests and trees can fill your lungs with.
The days and months seem to fly by so fast and everyone is moving at such a pace that it can be hard to keep up. A bit of time off the grid is a nice change to slow down the days and be present.
For kids (both big and small) who like adventure, this is a fantastic spot. My husband and brother-in-law braved the Networld adventure in the humidity with Doris, Gert and our nephew who thrilled at bouncing high above the trees.
They then moved over to the high ropes, which is customised for smaller legs and those who want to aim for something a little more challenging. Our eldest has been testing her limitations with her fear of heights of late and had to abort the mission, while our fearless Gertie had a ball climbing over the obstacles with her favourite, the zipline at the end of the course.
There are three courses for younger children, and we would recommend checking their height prior to attempting the higher ropes. Although, if you do happen to find yourself or a wildling in a pickle, the Treetops team are only too happy to help.

It was a great alternative to the traditional party without all the fanfare and an excellent choice for little explorers. There is a kiosk onsite, but food options are limited, unless you head back in to the Central Coast, so snacks or a picnic lunch would be recommended.
More information on Treetops can be found here and they have a few locations.

Book Reviews with AQ!
Over the summer, in a bid to curb screen time and prolong the booklist, I had the tween work on a project. She’s since continued that project and has decided to share it with the world.
Follow along for Book Reviews with AW and Pinky the Bear (PTB) as she works her way through the world of reading and as we desperately try to keep up with her book list!
We have also been fortunate to commission gorgeous art from the wonderful Cheryl Orsini.
